Don Brusen:
Drummer, Percussionist

Greetings... And Welcome to my web pages.

I was born near Detroit in September of 1952 and started playing drums in 1961 after a brief "accordion experiment".

I have had many years of "classical" drumming including marching and concert band and have even conducted the full orchestra in high school as a substitute band director.

I have played in many small, unknown groups and have gained many, many hours of stage time.

My major influences have been the masters, Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich and Tito Puente but my musical taste runs from Abba to Zappa.

My preference is Upbeat and Intricate Contemporary Jazz but I also Love Swing, Oldies, Motown and Quality Classic Rock with horns.
(Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire, Average White Band).

I would also gladly consider a dinner-club-jazz group.
(YES, I can use brushes).

I am currently trying to build or join a marketable band playing in bars and clubs at first then hopefully graduate to private parties, corporate events and such.

I never planned to quit my day job and pursue music as a career however, if a good opportunity arises, I will take it in a heartbeat.

If you are interested in such a project,
please contact me anytime..... Don.
